ULTRA TRAIL RUNNER
I first started running as a junior on the track, it was something I could channel my endless energy into and to challenge myself. I still enjoy the challenge of running, but since transitioning to the trails it has become more a way to feed my hunger for adventure and exploration. Every run is an adventure, especially when in the mountains.I run almost every day, sometimes twice a day, and at the peak of training in the summer months I can be running for up to 20 hours per week. I’m currently tapering for my next race, which is Penyagolosa Trails 110km on April 13th.
Since seriously pursuing ultra trail running I’ve podiumed in a number of international races, including 3rd place at Tarawera Ultramarathon in New Zealand most recently. But my proudest achievement so far has to be reaching the top 10 at CCC last year, one of the most competitive 100km races in the world and a race that I dedicated a lot of myself to.
This year I’ll be stepping up to my biggest race yet with my first 100 miler at UTMB in August – I’m excited for the challenge it will bring!
